Plants do better when they're planted right

Planting Pal emails a personalized planting guide directly to your customer. They'll have it in-hand to follow along step by step when they are actually doing the planting. And, since plants planted following your planting advice are going to do better, you'll have less returns.

When is the last time you learned how to do something from a book? We love a good spy novel just as much as the next guy, but that's just not how customers consume information anymore. Stand out from the crowd by offering mobile friendly planting advice.

Clear Directions

The directions for how much to use on fertilizer and planting mix products are impossible to figure out. Customers ended up just guessing when they got home. Planting Pal personalizes each planting guide sent out and shows customers exactly how much to use for each size plant of every product we recommend. That kind of personalization keeps our customers coming back.

Less Returns

One of the side effects of using Planting Pal has been a drop in returns. Customers are planting better because the planting guide emailed to them is so detailed. Now, plants are doing better and less are dying which means less returns for us.

Better Than Paper

We used to print paper planting guides like a lot of other garden centers. Customers seemed to always loose them before planting (I can't tell you how many we clean up in our parking lot every day). Emailing the planting guide is great because it never gets lost and its always available when the customer is planting.

Positive Feedback

We consistently get positive feedback on the planting guides emailed through Planting Pal. Mostly, people are really thankful for the level of detail telling them how much of each product to use during each step of the planting process.

How To Reduce Training Hours

& Improve Consistency Across Your Team

Our Story

We've been in the industry our whole lives.  With 50+ years running a 3rd generation garden center, 10+ years running a fertilizer company, and hosting gardening TV & radio shows - we've been able to work with customers and garden centers across the country. Across the nation, we saw customers struggling to find what planting amendments to buy and how to use them while garden centers were challenged to give consistent and accurate product recommendations.   Seeing these same challenges across the country, we decided to do something about it.

In our own garden center, we did extensive staff training on amendment rates, but that didn't work. The math and memorization was too complicated and seasonal employees never caught on. Next we tried amendment worksheets - write down the number of plants, multiply by each products' specific multiplier and you get how much to recommend. This was better, but still the math was a problem and it took too darn long. Finally, we decided to go mobile and it worked! We've continued to develop and share this tool with garden centers across the country with huge success.
